Environmental Preservation & Animal Welfare

This action area focuses on preserving, enhancing and providing access to the natural beauty of North Central Massachusetts and on enhancing the welfare of domestic animals.


Preserve, restore and provide public access to the natural environment of the region and to promote the humane treatment of animals through education, advocacy and services.  Some examples include:
  • Animal rescue, protection, and placement.
  • Animal welfare education.
  • Land/water preservation
  • Habitat restoration
  • Improving public access to natural places
  • Environmental/outdoor education
