CFNCM Awards $166,000 in Critical Community Needs Grants

The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts has awarded $166,000 in critical community needs grants in support of ten projects that seek to address homelessness, support people struggling with addiction and prevent suicide. Awardees include the NAN project, normalizing conversations around mental health and preventing suicide at the Bromfield School; Northstar Family Services providing emergency housing and a path to self-sufficiency to families in need; Disabled American Veterans upgrading transitional sober living facilities; and Call 2 Talk, preventing suicide through an awareness campaign and translation program; Our Father's House operating a moile shower for homeless people; GAAMHA in support of a new residential program nand therapeutic farm in Gardner; First Unitarian Universalist Church in Leominster in support of their Community Meal; and North Middlesex Regional School District to support students returing from hospitalization due to suicidal behaviors.

The grantees were among the first group of competitive grants from the Critical Community Needs Program of the Community Foundation.
