Community Foundation elects three new trustees
Carlton “Tuck” E. Nichols, Jr., of Harvard, MA, David E. Huhtala of Phillipston, MA and Ted E. Lapres of Groton, MA have been elected to three-year terms to The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts board of trustees.
Nichols is president and CEO of Nichols & Stone in Gardner, the oldest furniture company still in operation in the United States. He serves on Mount Wachusett Community Foundation’s board and is on the board of corporation of Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. In addition, Nichols serves as the board chair and president of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association.
Huhtala is president of Huhtala Oil Company in East Templeton, MA, a third generation family-owned fuel oil business. He currently serves as board president of the not-for-profit Baldwinville Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He and his wife, Kathie, have twin daughters, both college freshmen.
Lapres is president and CEO of Nypro Inc. in Clinton, MA. Lapres is president of the Groton-Dunstable Youth Basketball League-Recreation Division, treasurer of the Groton Conservation Trust and president of the Nypro Foundation.
The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts serves the charitable interest of donors in Ashburnham, Ashby, Athol, Ayer, Barre, Bolton, Clinton, Devens, Erving, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Harvard, Hubbardston, Lancaster, Leominster, Littleton, Lunenburg, New Salem, Orange, Pepperell, Petersham, Phillipston, Princeton, Royalston, Shirley, Sterling, Templeton, Townsend, Warwick, Wendell, Westminster, and Winchendon.
